Sinuous Symmetry of a Sort

Sinuous Symmetry – Dancing Rat Snakes at Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka.

We watched the two rat snakes dance for a long time. We assumed it was a mating dance, but according to sites on the internet it is a combat dance, with two male snakes “dancing” for dominance.  A group of egrets stood transfixed and seemed more interested than the human spectators. I hate snakes but even I stopped to watch.

Dancing snakes?! Now there is a party one wants to avoid walking into. I have never seen such a thing and am delighted to have you show it to me. Well delighted might not be quite the right word. 🙂
