Habit Forming
My great-aunt, Sister Marie Charles, attended my mother’s first communion on May 18, 1939. My mother is the young girl on the left. Sister (as we always called her) entered the convent on May 8, 1930 and was a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 75 years until her death in 2005. She seemed very stern when we were young. My younger sisters were scared of her. In my 30s, we started corresponding with each other, and I would visit her when I was in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota area.
We had nuns with the same ‘habit’ when I was in grade school. Your photo made me smile, and for that I say thank you. 🙂

Thanks. I had a different order of nuns with slightly different wimples. I haven’t looked at nuns the same way since they stopped wearing a habit. 🙂
