Gothic Revival Towers

Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Brno, South Moravia,Czech Republic,
I recently visited Brno in the Czech Republic. It is the second largest city in the country, and I wish I had scheduled another day or two. The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul dominates the skyline of the city from its position atop Petrov Hill. A church has been on this site since the 12th century. The existing Gothic structure was begun in the 14th century and has been rebuilt or modified over time. The church one of the most important pieces of architecture in South Moravia. The Gothic Revival towers were added in 1904/5 and are 84 meters high.
I have never visited either – would love to go.

The old part of town is lovely, with lots of Baroque churches and Art Nouveau facades.

Thanks. It is a fascinating country. My mother’s father’s family were Czech/Bohemian so it has always been of interest to me.
