I’ve visited Burano. It’s beautiful and a great escape from the crowds in Venice. I love the new 3 R’s as it describes my life perfectly.

Thanks. So true about escaping from the crowds. The first time I went to Venice in 1994 it was very busy but not like today. I don’t think so many, if any, cruise ships were stopping there.

I was there mid-90s too. There weren’t any big cruise liners there then either. When I see them in pictures now towering over St Marks Square it makes me cringe. It looks so very wrong. Also like they might topple over. I loved wandering the streets of Venice and visiting all the islands in the lagoon. It was busy in October (and raining) but nothing like it must be now.
