Dancing with Diaghilev

Russian Sergei Diaghilev, ballet impresario and founder of the Ballets Russes, is buried on the island of San Michele, Venice’s cemetery. Ballet dancers often leave a spare pair of used toe shoes placed on his grave stone.

Yes. This is the only one I know of because of his connection with ballet. Love you site, by the way. I was in Jaipur briefly a couple of years ago but wasn’t feeling well so didn’t see much of the city. Loved Rajasthan.

You have visited Jaipur? Wow… It’s bad that you haven’t been able to utilize your visit fully because of ill-health. I’m sure you’ll have another opportunity. Rajasthan is very popular place among tourists. Happy that you liked it. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂
