Haystack Rock

Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach is one of the most identifiable geological formations of Oregon. The basalt sea stack is 235-foot (72-meter) tall. Haystack Rock was formed by lava flows emanating from the Blue Mountains and Columbia basin about 15-16 million years ago. (Note, this is one of several Oregon rock formations named Haystack Rock.)
This is an absolutely beautiful photo of Canon Beach.
