Musicals Make The World Go Round
I love a good musical, live or at the movies. So many of the songs can stand on their own. And Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl is one of my favorite songs.
My introduction to musical theater was through high school, college, and traveling productions in the 60s and 70s. Seeing a show on Broadway was years away, not until the late 80s in fact, when I saw Les Miserables in New York City. It was an unforgettable experience. This clip is from the 10th Anniversary production, which was performed in concert in London; I have listened to it over and over.
The original animated Beauty and the Beast is incredible. Last weekend I saw Disney’s new live action version and I highly recommend it. A couple wonderful new songs have been added and the cast in outstanding.

What a great clip and song. ‘Funny Girl’ is always a must watch for me when it’s on the TV. I would have loved to have seen Barbara Streisand in concert, but sadly the cost of tickets was way too high even for me. I still love her, though.
