Brandy, You’re a Fine Girl
One of the best “sing it loud songs” ever. I still love to turn up the radio and sing the chorus with gusto. 🙂 Poor Brandy. Oh, but the terrible fashions from 1970. The lead singer looks like he is channeling Alice Cooper, without the eye makeup. And the bare chest—Eeek.
I remember my mother was the very first person I saw wearing a pair of flares. She was getting out of the car and walking towards our front door to come and persuade me to go into town with her. I was watching the Wimbledon Ladies final, so would not budge. It’s a very clear memory I have which has stuck with me.
Not heard this song before, so thanks for introducing it to us, Marie.

We didn’t call them flares in the US, though I grew up in a small town in the middle of not much, so they might have in more urban areas. They generically fell into the bell bottom category but I think we called them elephant legs, or something along that line.
