Celebrating the US National Park Service: Happy 100th Anniversary

Washington Monument and National WWII Memorial

I live near Washington, DC, and the area is full of National Parks, Monuments, Historic Sites, and Museums. Most of them are free to visitors. It is a wonderful place to spend a holiday if you have kids. The sites are managed by the National Park Service, which is celebrating its 100th birthday.

Thanks, Terri I recenlty learned from my niece, who is a Park Ranger in Massachusetts, that every park in DC is run by the National Park Service. Who knew. I assumed some of the were run by the District.
