Crossing Dome, The Duomo, Florence, Italy. The painting in the enormous dome, The Last Judgment, covers 3,600 metres (38 750 ft) of painted surface. It was started in 1568 by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari and completed in 1579.
