Perspective Looking Up

Frescoed Arcade Vault, Large Cloister, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, Florence, Italy. Mid-14th century ribbed vault, mid to late 16th century fresco cycle.

Only one rule, the image must be square.
Beautiful❣️I wish more detail and creativity was put into more building these days.

Thanks. It is incredible how they managed to create such lovely work in circumstances that would make the modern artist scream. 🙂

I know. I was surprised how many still remained in the cloister because for a long time it had been used a part of police/military training academy. The wall frescoes weren’t too bad but not too many vault frescoes were intact.

It is amazing, isn’t it. I must apologize. I have screwed up some of my pingbacks by trying to edit an old one rather than copy and pasting the new one. My apologies. I will try to fix. Have a great week.

No need to apologise Marie, but so annoying for you. Hope you can sort, and let me know if I can do anything to sort.
