Sunset At Luxor

 Earth

Wind

Water

Fire

One afternoon in Luxor, I watched the sunset on the Nile from my stateroom balcony. The serenity of the Nile was amazing. When K’lee and Dale’s suggested the four elements (earth, air, water, fire) as the theme of this week’s challenge, it struck me that each element was captured in these scenes of feluccas catching the wind at the end of a day. The mountainous landscape in the background is the location of the Valley of Kings and the Valley of Queens. From earth to earth, they say.

When the Last Petal Falls

The Last Rose

My outlook on the fate of our planet is bleak. This is the last rose on earth, in a garden of the future. Time is running out. When the last petal falls, there will be no more—unless humankind changes its ways.
