Still Life With Tomatoes
The giant maple tree which hangs low over my sister’s deck provides a lovely natural light for photographs. I like to play with the vegetables from her garden.
I spent Labor Day weekend visiting one of my sisters who is an avid gardener and preserves much of her produce. She makes delicious pickles, preserves, conserves, sauces, and salsa.
House sitting in Seattle has given me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends. I spent the afternoon in Gig Harbor, WA, which is near Tacoma, visiting my old friend Lee. We have known each other for 27 years, since we both work for the same government agency in San Francisco. As fate would have it, we both eventually ended up in the Puget Sound area. Lee has turned her yard into a beautiful rain garden. And as it rained all day, it was a perfect day to stroll through the garden.
