Two polychrome wooden statues from the second and largest cave at Dambulla, in Sri Lanka. Most of the statues and painting in the cave complex relate to Buddha. These figures have been identified as Saman, one of four guardian deities of Sri Lanka, and the Hindu god Vishnu. The statues date from the 12th century A.D.
