Genoa Night Lights

I’m spending the weekend in Genoa, taking a break from Italian class. The old town in Genoa doesn’t allow vehicles. I wound my way through the alleys to my hotel.

A Yellow Wall

Just caught my eye on a side street in Firenze near Santa Croce. Day one of my Italian course is complete.

On the Road in Rome

The fountain at the end of the street. I arrived tired and a bit cranky, but a nap and a lovely dinner restored me. I am excited to be in Rome for four days. My last visit was in 2001, shortly after 9/11.

Celebrating the US National Park Service: Happy 100th Anniversary

Washington Monument and National WWII Memorial

I live near Washington, DC, and the area is full of National Parks, Monuments, Historic Sites, and Museums. Most of them are free to visitors. It is a wonderful place to spend a holiday if you have kids. The sites are managed by the National Park Service, which is celebrating its 100th birthday.
