Join Becky’s month of Spiky Squares: Spiky #24. Two rules. Must be Spiky somehow; there is a wide range of interpretations. The photo must be square. Thanks, Becky for another inventive challenge.
Gouverneur Kemble Warren (1830 –1882), a civil engineer and Union Army general during the American Civil War, is remembered for the July 2, 1863 defense of Little Round Top during the Battle of Gettysburg. A bronze statue of Warren by Karl Gerhardt (1853–1940) overlooks the battlefield from Little Round Top in Gettysburg National Military Park. It was dedicated in 1888.
Twilight falls on two memorials on the Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Gettysburg was the site of one of the pivotal battles in the American Civil War. Following the war, US states whose troops fought at the battle, on both the Union and Confederate sides, built memorials to those who fought and died or were injured. Each memorial is unique. Visitors can drive through the park and stop at the various memorials.
