Leopoldskron Palace: the facade facing the lake represented the von Trapp residence in the Sound of Music

Leopoldskron Palace, the lakeside façade represented the von Trapp residence in the Sound of Music

Leopoldskron Palace, near Salzburg, Austria was used in the Sound of Music to represent the lakeside façade of the van Trapp residence. The real Von Trapp family house was not used in the film.  Nearby Frohnburg Palace was used for the courtyard and front backdrop. Neither was used for interior shots, all of which were filmed on a soundstage in Hollywood.

Daily Prompt: The End – Curtain Call
